Silver Copper Rod – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our silver copper rods are produced to combine pure copper’s outstanding conductivity with silver’s ability to improve high-temperature performance and corrosion resistance, making them ideal for electrical and thermal applications under demanding conditions.
Key process features
Production follows a controlled rolling and annealing process to ensure uniform silver distribution and consistent properties:
●Alloy Preparation: High-purity copper cathodes are alloyed with precise silver additions in induction furnaces under protective atmosphere.
●Casting & Hot Rolling: Ingots are cast and hot rolled into rods with uniform composition and refined grain.
●Cold Working: Controlled drawing or extrusion achieves final diameter with excellent surface quality.
●Annealing: Protective atmosphere annealing optimizes ductility, conductivity, and softening resistance.
●Finishing: Rods are straightened, cut to length, and optionally turned or polished.
●Surface Protection: Final cleaning and light oiling prevent oxidation during storage and global shipping.
●Packaging: Rods are bundled with protective separators to maintain straightness and surface quality.
Quality control system
● Full traceability from raw cathode to finished rod
● Material test certificates and conductivity reports supplied with every shipment
● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party verification (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of critical parameters:
• Chemical composition and silver content (optical emission spectrometry)
• Mechanical properties (tensile, hardness, and conductivity on multiple samples)
• Dimensional accuracy (micrometers and laser gauges; typical diameter tolerance ±0.05mm)
• Surface quality and straightness (visual + profilometer checks)
• Internal soundness (eddy current or ultrasonic scanning)
● Internal standards exceed ASTM B187 requirements. Typical C10400 properties:
Electrical conductivity >100% IACS, Improved softening resistance compared to pure copper, Excellent formability and long-term stability.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified facility ensures every silver copper rod delivers consistent conductivity, durability, and performance for your critical electrical and thermal applications.
