Supply and Machining Capabilities

C17200 finished parts can be machined from certified rod, bar, plate, forged stock or near-net-shape blanks, depending on the part geometry, size, quantity and required material condition.

Available processing includes CNC turning, milling, drilling, boring, grinding, polishing and deburring. Tapers, steps, flanges, grooves, holes, threads, shoulders and other functional features can be manufactured according to the approved drawing.

For precision components, the machining sequence, heat-treatment condition, datum system, tolerance and surface-finish requirements are reviewed before production.

Typical Applications

Aerospace components where C17200 is specified · Oil and gas equipment · Precision molds and tooling inserts · Electrical contact components · Automotive and industrial sensors · High-load mechanical parts · Precision instruments · Low-sparking equipment components subject to application-specific assessment

Quality and Inspection

Inspection can include chemical composition, hardness, electrical conductivity, dimensional inspection, CMM measurement, surface roughness and visual examination according to the agreed quality plan.

Material Test Certificates, heat-treatment records and dimensional inspection reports can be provided as specified. Ultrasonic examination and third-party inspection are available for suitable parts when included in the order requirements.

Guaranteed mechanical properties and dimensional tolerances depend on the alloy, material condition, part geometry, heat-treatment sequence and agreed inspection method.

Machining or grinding beryllium copper may generate beryllium-containing dust or mist. Appropriate ventilation, exposure controls and personal protective equipment must be used in accordance with the applicable SDS and local regulations.

FAQ

What types of beryllium copper parts can you manufacture?

We can supply turned, milled, drilled, bored and ground components, including flanged parts, stepped cylindrical parts, tapered sleeves, rings, plates, housings and other custom geometries.

What standards apply to C17200 finished parts?

ASTM B196/B196M may apply to rod or bar feedstock, ASTM B194/B194M to plate or rolled material, and ASTM B570 to suitable forgings or extrusions. Final dimensions, tolerances and acceptance criteria are controlled by the approved drawing and purchase specification.

What size range is available?

Typical parts cover diameters or widths from 10 mm to 300 mm and lengths or heights from 20 mm to 500 mm. Larger or non-standard components are subject to technical review.

Can you manufacture parts according to a drawing?

Yes. Please provide a 2D drawing, 3D model or detailed dimensional specification. The drawing should include material grade, heat-treatment condition, tolerances, surface finish and inspection requirements.

Can you achieve a tolerance of ±0.02 mm?

Selected critical features may achieve tight tolerances such as ±0.02 mm. Actual capability depends on the feature size, geometry, wall thickness, heat-treatment condition, machining sequence and inspection method.

Can parts be supplied heat-treated?

Yes. Parts may be supplied in a solution-treated, cold-worked, mill-hardened or precipitation-hardened condition as agreed. The appropriate sequence depends on the amount of machining and the required final properties.

Can you provide material certificates and inspection reports?

Yes. Material Test Certificates, heat-treatment records, dimensional reports, hardness or conductivity results and other agreed documents can be supplied according to the inspection plan.

Can you supply C17500 or C17510 components?

Yes, subject to material availability and technical review. C17500 and C17510 are different copper-beryllium alloys with different conductivity, strength and heat-treatment requirements. They should be quoted separately from C17200.

Are these parts suitable for high-temperature or non-sparking applications?

Suitability depends on the operating temperature, load, exposure time, mating materials and required retained properties. C17200 has low-sparking characteristics, but each hazardous or high-temperature application requires an engineering review.
