Supply and Machining Capabilities
C17200 bushings can be produced from certified rod, bar, forged stock or extruded hollow blanks, depending on the required dimensions, wall thickness and quantity.
Available processing includes CNC turning, boring, honing, grinding and polishing. Oil grooves, lubrication holes, flanges, shoulders, threads and other special features can be machined according to the approved drawing.
Required ID, OD, length, roundness, concentricity and surface finish are confirmed during drawing and manufacturability review.

Quality and Inspection
Inspection can include chemical composition, tensile properties, hardness, electrical conductivity, dimensions, roundness, concentricity and surface finish according to the agreed quality plan.
Critical dimensions may be inspected on every finished component when specified. Chemical analysis and destructive mechanical testing are normally performed by heat, production lot or representative sample.
Ultrasonic testing is available for suitable heavy-wall sections upon request. Material Test Certificates, heat-treatment records, dimensional reports and RoHS or REACH declarations can be provided according to the agreed order requirements.

Machining or grinding beryllium copper may generate beryllium-containing dust or mist. Appropriate ventilation, exposure controls and personal protective equipment must be used in accordance with the applicable SDS and local regulations.
FAQ
The terms are often used interchangeably. A bushing normally refers to a fitted bearing or guide component, while a sleeve may also describe hollow cylindrical stock supplied for further machining.
ASTM B196/B196M may apply when the bushing is machined from C17200 rod or bar. ASTM B570 may apply to forged or extruded feedstock. Final dimensions, tolerances and acceptance criteria are controlled by the approved drawing and purchase specification.
Standard supply covers 20–250 mm ID, 30–350 mm OD and lengths from 20 mm to 400 mm. Not every ID, OD and length combination is available, so wall thickness and manufacturing route must be reviewed together.
Yes. Available supply forms include forged or extruded hollow blanks, rough-machined sleeves, semi-finished bushings and fully machined components.
Yes. Straight, circular or helical oil grooves, lubrication holes and other features can be machined according to the customer’s drawing and bearing design.
Selected machined dimensions may achieve ±0.02 mm, but this cannot be guaranteed across the complete size range. Diameter, length, wall thickness, heat-treatment condition, roundness and inspection method must be reviewed before quotation.
No. C17200 provides high strength and wear resistance but is not inherently self-lubricating. Bearing performance depends on load, speed, mating material, alignment, surface finish and lubrication.
No. Mechanical properties depend on the source material, temper, wall thickness, heat treatment and sampling location. Selected age-hardened conditions may achieve 1200 MPa or above, but guaranteed values must be confirmed in the quotation and MTC.
Yes. MTCs, heat-treatment records, dimensional reports and ultrasonic examination can be provided when included in the agreed inspection plan. The UT procedure and acceptance criteria must be agreed before production.
Yes, subject to size and material availability. C17500 and C17510 provide higher electrical conductivity but lower maximum strength than C17200. They must be quoted as separate alloys using their own applicable conditions and required properties.
