Chromium Zirconium Copper Busbar – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our chromium zirconium copper busbars are specifically developed for high-current and high-temperature applications where sustained conductivity and mechanical strength are critical, delivering superior long-term performance compared to standard copper busbars.
Key process features
Production combines advanced metallurgical processing with precision fabrication to ensure uniform properties and excellent surface quality:
●Alloy Preparation: High-purity copper is alloyed with precise chromium and zirconium additions in controlled induction furnaces under protective atmosphere.
●Casting & Hot Rolling: Ingots are cast and hot rolled into wide plates or bars, refining grain structure and achieving high density.
●Solution Heat Treatment: Material is solution annealed at high temperature and rapidly quenched to create a supersaturated matrix.
●Precipitation Aging: Controlled low-temperature aging develops optimal hardness, strength, and conductivity balance.
●Precision Fabrication: CNC cutting, punching, bending, and edge finishing create exact lengths, hole patterns, and custom shapes per customer requirements.
●Optional Surface Treatment: Tin plating or other coatings can be applied for enhanced corrosion resistance and improved contact performance.
●Final Cleaning & Packaging: Busbars are thoroughly cleaned and securely bundled with protective interleaving to prevent damage during global shipping.
Quality control system
● Full traceability from raw alloy melt to finished busbar
● Comprehensive material test certificates and heat treatment reports supplied with every shipment
● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party verification (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of critical parameters:
• Chemical composition (optical emission spectrometry)
• Mechanical properties (tensile, hardness, and conductivity tested at multiple locations)
• Dimensional accuracy (laser measurement and CMM; typical tolerance ±0.2mm)
• Surface quality and flatness (profilometer + visual checks)
• Internal soundness (ultrasonic scanning on thicker sections)
● Internal standards exceed ASTM B768 requirements. Typical C18150 aged properties:
Tensile strength ≥450 MPa, Hardness ≥140 HB, Electrical conductivity ≥80% IACS, Excellent stability up to 500°C without significant softening.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified facility ensures every chromium zirconium copper busbar delivers consistent, reliable performance in your most demanding high-temperature and high-current applications.
