Supply and Processing Capabilities

C70600 strip can be supplied in wide coils, precision-slit coils or cut-to-length pieces. Thickness, width, temper, surface condition and coil parameters are prepared according to the customer’s downstream stamping, forming or fabrication requirements.

Available processing includes precision slitting, leveling, cut-to-length processing, deburring and edge conditioning. Coil ID, maximum coil OD, coil weight and packaging method can be agreed during quotation.

Quality and Inspection

Inspection can include chemical composition, tensile properties, hardness, elongation, thickness, width, flatness, edge condition and surface quality according to the agreed quality plan.

Chemical analysis and destructive mechanical testing are normally performed by heat, production lot or representative sample. Dimensional and surface inspection frequencies are established according to the applicable standard and purchase specification.

Material Test Certificates, dimensional reports, RoHS or REACH declarations and third-party inspection can be provided when included in the order requirements. Corrosion testing requires an agreed test method, specimen condition and acceptance criteria.

FAQ

What is C70600 copper nickel strip?

C70600 is a wrought 90/10 copper-nickel alloy containing controlled additions of iron and manganese. It is commonly selected for marine and seawater applications because of its corrosion resistance, toughness and fabrication characteristics.

What standards apply to C70600 strip?

ASTM B122/B122M is commonly used for C70600 plate, sheet, strip and rolled products. ASTM B171/B171M may apply when the material is ordered for pressure vessels, condensers or heat exchangers. The purchase specification should identify the required standard and edition.

What is the difference between C70600 and C71500?

C70600 contains approximately 10% nickel and is widely used for general marine service because of its corrosion resistance and formability. C71500 contains approximately 30% nickel and generally provides higher strength and enhanced resistance in more demanding or higher-velocity seawater environments. They should be quoted as separate alloys.

What thicknesses and widths are available?

Typical supply covers thicknesses from 0.1 mm to 5.0 mm and widths from 10 mm to 600 mm. Availability depends on alloy, temper, surface condition, quantity and dimensional tolerance.

Can you supply precision-slit coils?

Yes. Wide coils can be slit to custom widths. Please specify the required width, width tolerance, edge condition, coil ID, maximum coil OD and preferred coil weight.

What tempers and surfaces are available?

Annealed and cold-rolled tempers are available subject to thickness and production requirements. Surface options include mill finish, precision rolled and bright annealed where technically available.

Can you guarantee a thickness tolerance of ±0.02 mm?

Tolerance depends on nominal thickness, width, temper and applicable standard. A tolerance of ±0.02 mm may be practical for selected dimensions, but it cannot be guaranteed across the complete 0.1–5.0 mm range without order review.

Is C70600 suitable for direct seawater exposure?

C70600 is widely used in seawater systems, but suitability depends on water chemistry, velocity, temperature, flow conditions, fabrication quality and galvanic contact with other materials. Final application approval remains subject to the customer’s engineering assessment.

Can you provide material certificates and inspection reports?

Yes. Material Test Certificates, mechanical-property results, dimensional reports, compliance declarations and third-party inspection can be supplied when included in the agreed order requirements.
