Nickel-Plated Copper Busbar – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our nickel-plated copper busbars are designed to combine the outstanding conductivity of pure copper with the protective benefits of nickel plating, making them ideal for high-performance electrical applications.
Key process features
The production process ensures strong adhesion and uniform coverage:
●Base Material Preparation: High-purity copper is hot-rolled or extruded into precise flat bars with controlled grain structure.
●Surface Cleaning: Multi-stage chemical cleaning and activation removes oxides and prepares the copper for plating.
●Electroplating: Electrolytic nickel deposition in controlled baths achieves consistent thickness and bright finish.
●Rinsing & Drying: Thorough rinsing prevents residue, followed by controlled drying to avoid defects.
●Precision Cutting: Bars are sheared or sawn to exact lengths with clean edges.
●Final Treatment: Optional passivation or anti-tarnish coating applied for extended shelf life.
●Packaging: Protective wrapping and secure bundling prevent damage and plating scratches during transit.
Quality control system
● Full traceability from copper coil lot to finished plated bar
● Test reports and plating thickness certificates provided with each batch
● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party verification (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of key parameters:
• Base copper purity and conductivity (electrical resistivity testing)
• Plating thickness (X-ray fluorescence or microscopic measurement; typical 5-20μm)
• Adhesion testing (bend and thermal shock tests)
• Dimensional accuracy (digital calipers and CMM; typical tolerance ±0.1mm on thickness)
• Surface quality (visual and magnified inspection for uniformity)
● Internal standards exceed ASTM B689 requirements. Typical performance: Conductivity >95% IACS, Excellent resistance to corrosion and thermal cycling, Strong plating bond with no peeling under stress.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified facility ensures every nickel-plated copper busbar delivers reliable, long-lasting electrical performance you can count on.
