Brass Gear – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our brass gears are crafted to deliver smooth, reliable power transmission in applications where low noise, corrosion resistance, and precise fit are essential.
Key process features
Manufacturing combines advanced CNC machining with traditional gear cutting techniques for superior accuracy and surface quality:
●Material Selection: Certified brass bars are sourced with verified composition for optimal cutting and forming.
●Rough Turning: Blanks are turned to precise outer dimensions and bore on CNC lathes.
●Gear Hobbing or Shaping: High-precision hobbing machines cut accurate tooth profiles with controlled depth and spacing.
●Deburring & Finishing: Automated tumbling or manual deburring removes sharp edges; tooth surfaces are polished for reduced friction.
●Optional Treatments: Light heat treatment or surface coating available for enhanced wear properties.
●Final Balancing: Dynamic balancing performed on higher-speed gears to minimize vibration.
●Cleaning & Protection: Gears are degreased and lightly oiled to prevent tarnishing during storage and shipping.
Quality control system
● Complete traceability from raw bar lot to finished gear
● Inspection reports and material certificates provided with each batch
● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party review (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of key characteristics:
• Chemical composition (spectrometer analysis)
• Gear accuracy (gear measuring center; typically AGMA 8-10 or DIN 7-9)
• Dimensional tolerances (CMM; tooth profile ±0.01mm typical)
• Surface finish and burrs (magnified visual checks)
• Hardness and material properties (Rockwell testing on samples)
● Internal standards meet or exceed ASTM B16 requirements. Typical C36000 properties: Excellent chip formation during machining, Reliable low-noise meshing with hardened steel partners, Good resistance to atmospheric corrosion.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified operations ensure every brass gear provides the precision, durability, and smooth performance your assemblies depend on.
