White Copper (Cupro-Nickel) Tube – Technical Supplement
Our cupro-nickel tubes are manufactured through a fully controlled process of high-precision horizontal continuous casting, multi-pass cold working, and protective-atmosphere heat treatment to ensure uniform alloy composition, refined grain structure, and dense microstructure.
Key process flow: Vacuum induction melting → Horizontal continuous casting (semi-continuous billet) → High-ratio hot extrusion → Multi-pass cold rolling/drawing → Multiple intermediate annealing under protective atmosphere → Final finishing → 100% eddy current + ultrasonic testing (as required).
Quality control strictly exceeds national and ASTM standards with in-house specifications:
● Chemical composition: Each heat verified by direct-reading spectrometer; major elements (Cu+Ni+Fe+Mn) variation controlled within ±0.05%
● Grain size: Consistently maintained at 0.015–0.035 mm, no mixed grain
● Mechanical properties: Full batch testing of tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation; coefficient of variation (CV) < 3%
● Dimensional tolerances: OD ±0.015 mm, WT ±0.008 mm, ovality ≤ 0.02 mm
● Surface finish: Inner and outer surface Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, free of oxidation color, scratches, or cracks
● NDT: 100% eddy current testing per EN 1971 Class A; ultrasonic testing available upon request
● Internal cleanliness: Inner surface cleanliness better than IGC-Test Grade 1, suitable for high-pressure hydrogen, refrigerants, and other critical media
These tubes have been reliably applied in marine engineering, ship seawater piping, heat exchangers, nuclear power instrumentation lines, and high-pressure hydrogen storage & transportation systems. We have established long-term supply relationships with multiple industry-leading companies and maintain an annual capacity of 8,000 tons of high-performance cupro-nickel tubes. Custom production according to client drawings or standards such as AMS 4574, CuNi30, C71500, BNi-2, etc., is available.
