Aluminum Bronze Busbar – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our aluminum bronze busbars are produced for applications requiring a combination of electrical performance and extreme durability in corrosive or high-stress settings where standard copper would fail over time.
Key process features
Manufacturing emphasizes dense material with controlled alloying for consistent properties across large sections:
●Alloy Melting: Selected ingots are melted in induction furnaces with precise composition monitoring for aluminum, nickel, and iron content.
●Casting or Extrusion: Continuous or semi-continuous casting produces dense billets; hot extrusion forms flat bars with refined grain.
●Hot Working: Rolling or forging reduces thickness while improving strength and homogeneity.
●Heat Treatment: Annealing cycles balance hardness, ductility, and stress relief.
●Finishing Operations: Bars are straightened, cut to length, and surfaces machined or chamfered as needed.
●Optional Treatments: Tin plating or edge finishing available for enhanced connectivity or safety.
●Protection: Bars are cleaned and bundled securely to preserve surface quality during transit.
Quality control system
● Complete traceability from raw ingot to finished busbar
● Material test reports supplied with each delivery
● Sample retention ≥3 years for third-party audit (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of key attributes:
• Chemical composition (emission spectrometry)
• Mechanical properties (tensile, hardness, and conductivity on samples)
• Dimensional accuracy (micrometers and flatness checks; typical tolerance ±1% on thickness/width)
• Surface condition (visual and roughness measurement)
• Internal soundness (ultrasonic testing on thicker sections)
● Internal standards exceed ASTM B148 requirements. Typical C95800 properties: Tensile strength ≥690 MPa, Yield strength ≥345 MPa, Outstanding resistance to seawater corrosion and mechanical wear.
● ISO 9001:2015 certified operations ensure every aluminum bronze busbar provides reliable conductivity, strength, and longevity in your demanding electrical systems.
