Product Supplement – Large-Diameter Aluminum Alloy Round Bars

We specialize in the production of large-diameter aluminum alloy round bars ranging from Φ120 mm to Φ1200 mm, covering 1xxx, 2xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx series and high-strength grades. Single bar weight can exceed 15 tons. These products are widely used in aerospace, defense, marine & offshore platforms, energy equipment, rail transit, mold making, and high-end industrial structures.

Key Manufacturing Processes

● Produced on 45–150 MN reverse extrusion presses (oil or water hydraulic) to ensure dense microstructure, refined grain size, and continuous flow lines in large-diameter bars.
● Equipped with industry-leading 85-ton melting-casting lines featuring full refining, degassing, dual-stage filtration, and grain refinement. Ingot macrostructure achieves crack-free, porosity and inclusion rating ≤ Grade 1.
● 100% ultrasonic testing after extrusion (compliant with EN 755-3, AMS 2154, ASTM B594 Class A, or stricter customer specifications), with individual defect equivalence ≤ FBH 0.8 mm.
● Homogenization, solution heat treatment, and aging performed in forced-air circulation furnaces with water-immersion or high-pressure spray quenching; quench transfer time ≤ 15 seconds, ensuring consistent core-to-surface properties in heavy sections.
● Dimensional tolerances as tight as ±0.5 mm, roundness ≤ 0.5 mm, straightness ≤ 0.3 mm/m, surface free of cracks, orange peel, or porosity.

Quality Control Capability

● Full batch traceability with raw melting, UT, and mechanical/chemical test records retained for more than 10 years.
● Complete in-house testing facilities including direct-reading spectrometer (Thermo ARL 3460), Leica optical microscope, ZEISS CMM, 600 kN universal testing machine, and Brinell/Webster hardness testers.
● Batch-to-batch property variation: tensile strength fluctuation within ±8 MPa, elongation within ±1.5%, significantly tighter than standard requirements.
