Aluminum Round Bar – Process & Quality Assurance Statement
Our aluminum round bars are manufactured from primary aluminum ingots with purity ≥99.7%. The complete production route is as follows:
1.Melting & Refining: Vacuum melting furnace combined with in-line degassing and ceramic foam filtration ensures hydrogen content consistently ≤0.12 ml/100g Al, resulting in zero porosity and inclusions.
2.Semi-continuous Casting: Hot-top same-level casting with automatic mold level control; segregation layer ≤3 mm, grain size Grade 1.
3.Homogenization: 12–18 h gradient homogenization eliminates dendritic segregation and residual stress.
4.Extrusion: 6500–12500 T oil-hydraulic presses, forward extrusion with on-line water-air sealing quench. Real-time monitoring of container and exit temperature guarantees dimensional tolerance within ±0.15 mm (high-precision grade, superior to standard requirements).
5.Stretching & Artificial Aging: Combined roller + tensile straightening achieves straightness ≤0.3 mm/m. T6/T6511 aging performed in furnaces with temperature uniformity ±3 °C; mechanical property variation between batches ≤5 MPa.
6.Finishing: Centerless grinding, peeling, precision cutting. Diameter range φ8–650 mm, surface finish Ra ≤0.4 μm, length tolerance ±0.5 mm.
Quality Control System
● Full lot traceability from ingot heat number to finished bar
● Retention of witness samples ≥2 years for third-party re-testing (SGS, BV, TÜV, etc.)
● 100% inspection of critical parameters: • Chemical composition (direct-reading spectrometer) • Mechanical properties (universal testing machine) • Internal soundness (C-scan immersion ultrasonic, single defect equivalent ≤FBH 0.8 mm) • Dimensional & surface quality (CMM + laser micrometer)
● Internal specifications exceed GB/T 33999, EN 755, and ASTM B221 requirements. Typical verified properties for 6061-T6: Tensile strength ≥310 MPa, Yield strength ≥275 MPa, Elongation ≥12% (vs. standard 260/240/8%).
