Chromium Zirconium Copper (C18150/CuCrZr) Bar – Product Technical Profile

Our Chromium Zirconium Copper (CuCrZr, C18150) bars are positioned as a premium high-performance copper alloy specifically developed for applications requiring superior combination of high strength, high electrical conductivity and elevated softening resistance. Typical applications include resistance welding electrodes, plastic injection mold inserts and cooling components, high-speed railway contact wire inserts, continuous casting molds, and power semiconductor baseplates.

Manufacturing Process

● Vacuum semi-continuous casting
● High-tonnage hot extrusion
● Multi-pass cold drawing with intermediate annealing
● Precision straightening
● Solution heat treatment + precisely controlled precipitation hardening (aging)

Critical alloying elements (Cr and Zr) are controlled within ±0.02% of target composition. Aging parameters are maintained within ±5°C and ±15 minutes to ensure batch-to-batch consistency of mechanical and physical properties within 3%.

Quality Control System

● Raw materials: SH-grade electrolytic copper cathodes + high-purity master alloys only
● In-process inspection: direct-reading spectrometry, ultrasonic flaw detection (FBH ≤ 0.5 mm equivalent), macrostructure examination per heat
● Finished product testing (100% per lot): – Electrical conductivity (%IACS) – Hardness (HV) – Softening resistance (hardness drop ≤ 10 HV after 500°C × 2 h) – Tensile properties
● Dimensional tolerance: diameter h8/h7 achievable as standard
● Surface finish: Ra ≤ 0.8 μm
● Full traceability: each bar laser-marked with heat number and production date
